Purpose of depressions in floor

Post by Kendall »

I have been sanding the tub of my M38 and started wondering about the two rows of depressions in the floor in the rear compartment. What is the purpose of the three in one row and two in the other?
Just curious,

They are a carry over from the CJ3A tub for the rear seat legs on the civvy style seat.

The 3 depressions forward in the bed are for footman loop placement to accomodate a half top.
