new top
I have saved the cash for a new top for my M38, winter is coming soon.
Quality and accuracy is what I am looking for. Any suggestions on who is the best.

tops
There are some nice tops out there from WeeBee webbing, New Life, Beechwood and then others like Surplus City seem to have them made locally.
I have a WeeBee and the quality and fit is high. I went with them because Dave comes to the shows, talks to you, listens and answers questions and has been involved in our hobby so its worth supporting our supporters.
The beechwood guy has never been able to answer questions and always steer you to use their website. Some may like internet shopping, I don't so I moved on.
New Life was getting high marks for quality. They had been swamped with work at one time.
One thing you will have to check with others is delviery time. When I was looking at tops a few years back the delivery times were about 6 months. But at that time the economy was a little hotter and there were more orders so maybe they have all caught up a bit.
Hope some of the buyers from the last year let you know what they got for product and customer service.

Thanks Tom,
I got my seat covers from WeeBee Webbing a couple of years back, they fit great.
I just thought I would see what other people had to say before I orderd the whole top, not a lot of folks to talk too locally, and thanks to the web, there are more choices than I imagined.
I got all the old parts out of the barn that my dad pulled off when he put a bestop on it in the 70s, I have a problem with the doors, someone welded a flat bar across them front to rear, kinda like an arm rest, just under the handle, I can tell from pictures on here, that is not supposed to be there! Any idea why someone would do that? Would that be a “Bubba Mod” or is it something done while it was in service?

Sounds like Bubba. The original doors were folding doors. Perhaps they were added as a stiffener.
I agree with Tom on WeeBee.

On the picture business, my retarded self recently figured out that my problem with uploading photos was that they were too big a file. I'm not sure how to "dumb" them down to a smaller file size - haven't sat down to figure it out. But that might be your problem if you're following the uploading instructions here.

Thanks all, I do appriciate the input.
Just ordered a full top today from WeeBee. I am excited!
Now to dig through the box of parts dad had stored in the little guy when he left it in the barn years ago, see if the rest of the loops, and brackets are here, and what else I might need to order.
Still curious about my doors being made of round bar instead of flat, they seem to fit ok but who knows when correct canvas gets here.
If there are drawings on here that might help on the installation please point me that direction, my little M38 isn't all correct, but, when I fix something I want to fix it right, it's going to be in the family for many more years to come!
Thanks again! Hope to be posting pictures in the next month or so.
