What is this bellhousing stud?

Post by Bretto »

There was nothing attached to this when I dismantled my M38. Does anyone know what is supposed to attach here? This isn't my picture but my housing is identical.

stud accommodation for the Bearing Support for the Ramsey PTO /50R winch configuration. I'm one of the fortunate ones that lack this gem .

Aside from that... I'm guessing a foot stop should one's floor rot out. 8O

it is the pivot point for the Clutch and brake support shaft...

The shaft mounts on the Frame on one end and on the bell housing for the other...

The pedal support is mounted completely on the frame. The clutch cross shaft is mounted to the frame and the left side of the transfer case. Neither use the bell housing for attachment.

In the next photo you are looking up at the driveshaft bearing block which is directly across from the pedal support block and is fastened to that stud on the bell housing.

In the illustration below Item AM is the bearing support which uses the stud (KK) to fasten to the bell housing.
