carb gaskets

Post by Wiltshireboy »

I have found that my YF carb has a thick and a thin gasket between the carb and the inlet manifold. What could be the reason for this? the thick gasket looks to have been stapled together, this must make the gasket less efficient. I have put 2 pictures in my album (andys jeep) page 8, as i am not sure how to attach them here.[/img]

I think that it is a heat insulator to prevent the carb from getting too hot especially right after you shut it off. the carb would just boil out.:)

its easy andy, from your photo album rt click on the photo then select
properties and copy the address by dragging over the entire address
and copying-then insert it between the img things. give it a try. you can
go full size or thumbnail. practice-practice--no one will fault you if
you dont get it right the 1st time. 8)

Andy I took the liberty of editing your post. You cannot post photos from your computer's files here. We haven't upgraded to that service yet.

When you click on the "Img" icon above this dialog box the first time you get one of these: Image
You want to paste your photos web site address (URL) between these two "Img" things.
Thus: Image

In your attempt below you chopped off part of the first [img]

[/img]

When I place your photo's correct address (http://willysmjeeps.com/v2/modules/gall ... .sized.jpg) between two complete, in tact, IMG's you get this:
