I think it goes in the M170 ambulance Jeep. There are pictures in the TM of the layout if you have it. John

That tag you show part numbers to a drivers seat for an M38A1. Not a passenger seat. The tag and seat don't appear to go together.

The seat appears to be a custom mod from indication of varying paint tones.
also the weld residual along the frame. Interesting seat frame nonetheless.

As old salt said, that part # is for a rigid one piece drivers seat for the M38a1.
Under that part # it should not be a folding seat.

I'm thinking it's an early cj5 folding passenger seat. They looked and mounted like the M38A1 passenger seat and folded.
