M-170 remains

Post by swat »

I stumbled upon the bones of an M-170. The tub and frame are actually in fairly good shape. Is there any colletable interest in M-170 jeeps? AN internet site I looked at says there were only slightly over 4000 manufactured.

Yes there is an interest. M170's are a hard resto as the parts are very rare and expensive when found. The drivetrain is very similar to an M38A1 so it that part is not too bad but the ambulance parts, windshield, seats, tailgate, top supports, electrical, etc are a bugger. Running chassis that need resto are running around 2500.00. You should post pics for a deeper opinion.
I need parts for the two I have so I would be interested in some parts but not frames or bodies. Any ambulance parts I would be interested in making offers on.
