I was wondering what the difference in use is between original Stabil and the new Stabil Ethanol Treatment, so I emailed Golden Eagle, the maker of Stabil products. Two days later I received this email:
"They are different products with different purposes. Long story short:
Stabilizer = storage. It works just as well with ethanol fuel for storage up to 12 months.
Ethanol Treatment = protection against ethanol performance troubles while equipment is in-use or in-season. It has some stabilizing properties but not as much as our stabilizer so it’s good for intermittent storages of a couple months but we recommend our Stabilizer for storages longer than ~3 months."
