Turn Signal

So Wes, if I get a front BO marker light, and a red lens, I should be good for the military turn signal upgrade? Where would I get a red lens for that? I found amber, but not red.

housing?

I haven't seen a red lens for the little light. The only purpose for that add on little light in the rear is to maintain a BO stop lamp to the rear when you remove the original main right rear light assy and replace it with a left assy which does not contain a BO stop indicator. If you want a correct motor pool class setup then you need that little lamp added on in the rear. If you are building driver and only want red stop, tail & turn on both sides then don't waste the money on the little bugger. Keep in mind it uses a miniature version of the BO stop lens indicator. But since the little housings are the same when used on front BO marker and rear blackout stop and you have an extra BO marker then just stick it on there. If you want it to have the correct lens you buy just that lens for $8 at Saturn Surplus as I have posted earlier above.

No, the the hood latch bolts do not touch the BO lite housing.
Make fixture to bolt to the hood latch and BO lite.

I had some 1-1/2" flat iron. I cut a piece long enough so the latch bolts could hold it. I welded a 3/8" fine thread stud to the center of the flat iron. Stud needs to be long enough so that when the housing is screwed on and lock nutted in place that there will be room enough to put the nuts on the hood latch bolts.

You can have the stud long enough make the lite housing extend below the rim of the fender or you can keep it short as long as you can remove the lense to change the bulb. That is something I did not think about during the process.

I can either cross that bridge when the time comes or replace the stud to lower the lite about 3/8" to 1/2" more.

Also place a ground wire on 3/8" stud between lock nut and housing. I used a star washer under lock nut also. The hole for the wires was already there.
As usual I didn't take any photos of the process but took some as it is mounted.

I think something else can be added, like a shield to keep rocks and gravel from hitting the wires. That's something to think about.

They worked out very well Rick.
The idea of placing the BO lite under the fender isn't mine. I read about it on one of the forums.
