Good evening everyone,
I am still working on replacing the fuel lines and gas tank on my 51 M38. I need some guidance as to routing the gas line from the tank to the fuel pump. As of right now, there is a hose running from a soda bottle to the fuel pump. The previous owner ditched the old tank before I bought it. Now someone told me I can buy pre-bent lines, but I'm not sure if this is the best way to go. If someone could give me some advice as to where to start that would be great. I plan on getting the repo tank from WillysAcres and then the sending unit and the fuel unit from MidWest Mil. That should take care of that end, then I just need to figure out how to run lines to the pump on the other side of the firewall, but want to get it as close to original as I can.

The fuel line comes off the fuel pickup at the top of the tank and runs aft to the rear of the tank. It then runs out a small hole in the floor pan and then down the frame rail to the fuel pump.
It does not go through the firewall.
A drawing is located in the TM 9-8012 January 1956
page 166 figure 50 and page 169 figure 52
As for pre-bent fuel and brake lines - they get you close and then you can make minor adjustments as needed or you can make your own depending on skill level and time.

The only current manufacturer of repop M38 fuel tanks is Bemac or better known as MD Juan in the Phillippine Is. They are handled by many vendors here in the states including the one you mentioned. The early tanks were not actually too short. The angle was wrong on the filler pipe and it wouldn't let the tank sit all the way down on the runners. The current MD Juan M38 tank is much better and only has a small problem with centering the filler pipe in the side hole and the location of the top rear strap bracket.

Once I get the gas tank in, I can finally drive it around a little without the hose and soda bottle!
Then I have to get working on the muffler.
