No oil filter?

Post by Dave51 »

I just picked up a M-38 that is pretty much original 24v. and all but there is no oil filter or bracket for it. Did they ever use them this way or was it just removed for what ever reason? The dash plate has 60890 on it and 3/52 and the wheel well plate has MC 60890. The engine has MC 82900 on it. I plan on installing an oil filter but which type is correct? Thanks, Dave

All the M38's and all the M38A1 and all the M170's came with oil filters. Start looking for the correct filter. M38 and early A1 used the Cuno and the rest of the A1's used the military junior.
