M38 Carburetor

Post by Herrmann_Sherman »

Hi there,
my todays question is about my M38´s carburetor. Current installation is with an french Zenith W-O carburetor. In the crap-box which I got with my M38 is an old Carter carburetor Model W-O 146-249. Is this the right one for an M38? Or can you tell me which is the right one for an M38?
Many thanks für any informations. I´m thinking about an Solex for the future...

Regards
HS

WO series are for WWII G503 (MB, GPW etc) and early CJ's with L134.

The M38 uses the YS637S Carter and the M38A1 uses the YS950S Carter.

In addition the M38 carb is used with a flow divider type gasket shown below.
