Couple of horn questions

Post by brachus12 »

Which horn is appropriate for '62 M170, the one with rubber connectors?

Also when looking at the face of the horn, which plug is for ground and which for power?

The Jeep is missing all the horn bits in the steering system, so I wanted to wire up a temporary push button on the dash.

Once we actually start the restoration, we'll be going back to the original horn config.

Before we were able to get a new horn switch for
our M38, I rigged a door bell button strapped to the
underneath of the steering post with cable ties and
ran the wire to it and to the horn out of sight. It worked
OK until we made the permanent fix. Doing it this way
didn't mess up the dash with an extra hole.

Thanks for the idea!

Also I dug out the manuals after getting home from work and found the wiring diagram. Looks like the horn connector nearest the fender wall is ground?
