I need a couple of new body parts

Post by Deadguy »

The sheet metal extensions the reach down from the front of the body tub and attach to the frame are all rusted out on my M38A1. Does anyone know what they are called, and where I can get new ones?

Try taking a peak at your ORD 9 SNL G-758 Parts list on page 327 about 2" from the top of the page.

WO# 680991 left and 680992 right.and they are shown only used up to MD60406

So, I guess the important question would be, are they necessary? If they were discontinued, would I be better off just cutting off the rusty, hole ridden shells?

I would simply fabricate a similar bracket and use it to secure those two tub mounting rubbers on each #1 tub mount. Are they really needed? In MHO yes they are. They are a great help when aligning the tub left to right at the toe board gussets (the frames the two brackets fasten too).
