M170 Seat Frames

Post by toojeeps »

I am still trying to find complete or partial seat frames for my M170. The driver's seat is priority, but if anyone has a lower portion of the passenger seat I'm interested in that as well.

Thanks Wes, will likely get the top bows from him. Still need seat frames, they're the most important item as of now (Drivers>Passenger). I will probably have to make something if nothing shows up. I've read about using M38/A1 passenger seats and early CJ5 seats.

Check with DeBella. He had some NOS complete canvas tops for the M170.

I'm looking for seat frames also. Hoping to find someone willing to have their frames measured so I can fabricate new ones as finding originals for sale is pretty difficult.

Seems to be a common problem with seats missing from the M170s. Mine are gone too.

Would be nice if someone with the tooling made a few reproduction frames every year. Doubt there'd be much money in it, though. The cost to produce them would probably eliminate profits considering the limited (though very pointed) demand.
