Right fender bolt pattern question M38A1 1953 CDN1

Post by Headcase »

Can anyone say for sure or even a maybe what these bolt holes were for?
The bolt hole way out front had a signal light it it...removed now the other three are longer and wider than a Black out driving light as the other side has?
Thanks! HC!

Im thinking it might have been a siren? The back hole might have been where the cable came into it?

I found out what it is for...!
An ATU Mount for a radio tuner and antenna. It sits way out in front of the headlight ina a small box on the plate with an antenna mounted on top.
It is a very good example of how the Army will mount something very utilitarian.
