They say the correct gasket should be 14 7/16 inches, and the one I got is 13 something.
I think they are confused but not about the outer 134" seal. As you posted originally they only said your 13" was too short because they needed one 14 7/16". Well if you think about what they said then you will realize that they are thinking the center vertical divider seal must go from metal at the top to metal at the bottom. If you subtract the thickness of the 134" seal twice you reduce the 14 7/16" they want to the correct 13" you gave them. So my guess is they do not have the 134" seal yet.

Does the one piece glass only have one strip, and the two panel glass has an outer and inner?
The outer 134" seal is the same no matter weather you do two pieces of glass or one. The center vertical divider 13" seal is only used on the two piece glass windshield which is the correct way for the M38A1. The one piece windshield setup is a CJ5 thing.

John at Midwest Military sorted it out. He has the correct seal. He was on the phone with the glass place today.

And this means what seal was where? Remember this is a board for getting help and sharing the solutions. Maybe John can skip the circle runaround at your glass shop and give us the straight scoop on this seal fiasco!

I have to see the seal John provides. He was on the phone with the glass shop, not me. I talked to him to make sure it was sorted out, and he stated that he didn't know where Kaiser-Willy's got their seal from, but it was definitely the wrong size.
