I can think of three electronic conversions. The commercial Pertronix kit.
The early M151 kit which can be adapted to the M38/M38A1 and uses the original style rotor. The late M151 kit which can be adapted to the M38/M38A1 and uses the large round windowed rotor. Both M151 kits you must consider that the M151 distributor rotates the opposite direction of the Willys Autolite.

Which kit do you have?

The Prestolite kit is the early M151 and is a straight forward drop in with very little modification. I'll have to look for some photos and instructions. It is a rare kit and often difficult to find parts for. The commercial Pertronix system would have been much simpler to install.

Yes, that is the early M151 Prestolite kit. Do you have photos of the rest of the instruction sheets? If so do post them. Keep in mind that the Willys distributor installation rotates in the opposite direction.

I was just given an m151 dist with this early kit in it. What needs to be done to put it in my m38? The guy has a few more as well so if I need parts I know where to get them.
