I have recently aquired a set of door frames for my M-38CDN and need to know how was the canvas worked around the door handle...
There is canvas under the handles and want to clen them up so I am guessing I need to pull the handles and go from there... The handles on the doors I have are riveted onto the door frames...
Any help is apreciated...

I assume you are talking about the two piece handles that are riveted together through the metal escutcheon. You can grind them off and buy replacement handles and re brad them or you can do what I did and drill and tap the outside handle for a 10-24 0r 10-32 screw and put them back together with a machine screw and washer. I did that on my new door handles so I could remove my door skins later if I wanted. Some earlier doors actually had threaded handle pivots which would be ideal.
