Found a tag

Post by Bretto »

Dug into my rear seat today. That didn't sound good :D . Anyway I found this little metal tag on one of the coils in the seat bottom.
Anyone have any idea what it is or means? Just curious.
Reads 'SG 816013'
Also found the original OD canvas underneath the black vinyl, that the prev owner put on, which I thought was neat. Its not in bad shape but its still going to be replaced.

That one raised a smile.
Maybe that tag is the spring coil manufacturer's part number? My front & rear seat springs are accessible; I'll check them when I get back from work to see if there's anything similar on mine.

Here's my rear seat tags:

I make them to read as follows:

Seat Base: SG 816013-D
Seat Back: SG 816004-A

That seat base tag number is pretty close to Bretto's which makes me think it's a manufacturer's part number. IMO, anyway.

That's probably exactly what mine reads. The last part of it is mangled so I cant read if their is a D there but I'm sure it is.
Thanks for looking.
