white "High Beam" question

Post by PaulB »

Guys, I have a question. Was the white decal "High Beam" under the high beam warning light a decal or stenciled on the cluster? I have any early cluster and I want to make sure it looks right. I have seen decals, but they look too shiny.

Thanks for the help...

The later M38 instrument cluster panel had screened or decal type for both the Hi Beam and the Fuel placards. They did not look like painted stencils. The earlier panel (up to about April 52) did not have those placards.Correction: earlier panel did not have the fuel placard.)

Hi Wes, I'm a little confused. So originally an early M38 from the factory would not have either the High Beam or the Fuel placard on the instrument cluster? I thought the High Beam marking was there on the early models, and the fuel marking was added later.

Thanks...

My bad ! You are correct fuel late add-on and Hi Beam all.
