Front Axle question.

Ok. SO I have two front axles. One came on my original frame (dana 27) and another one came on my spare frame (dana 25). The 27 differential guts look to be in good useable condition while the dana 25 is pretty much shot. My question is this. How much are the two axles interchangeable? I'd like to salvage some useable parts but don't want to mess anything up. From what I found online, the 25 was used until 1960 and then the 27 from '61 to '71. I'm just going for a motor pool restoration on my A1 so either can work. I'd like to use the 27 since it's in better shape though. So how much is interchangeable? Thanks guys.
