USAF jeeps in England

Found this on google the other day. It was taken at RAF Upper-Heyford in the 1950's (when it was used by the USAF). Check out the bottom two pictures.

Could he be priming that Jeep in preparation for a coat of Strata Blue?
And could those blocks at the sides of the windscreens in the last photo be "trafficators"?
