oil leak

Post by kayakingboy »

I have a 1950 Willy's Jeepster with the F-134 engine. Last time I started it up oil started leaking out of the crankshaft ventilator. Any ideas why this happened? It made a mess! :?

Does your jeepster have a PCV Valve or just a road draft tube?

Image
Item S is the PCV valve. This illustration is for the military jeep so you won't have the valve assembly shown as item L.

This illustration is of a WWII L134 but the F134 road draft tube (item 28) is the same.

Oil dripping from the road draft tube is indicative of either extreme blowby (worn rings) or a plugged vent system or heavy foaming of the oil usually caused by adding oil above the full mark.
