Availability of Overhaul Kits?

Post by cobra5 »

Hey guys,

New to the board and as you can see I don't own any series of M-38 vehicles. However, I thought since our vehicles serve around the same time frame and have 24 volt electrical systems that someone here may know of a source for generator, starter, and voltage regulator rebuild kits. I see that some of the vendors have generators, starters, and voltage regulators for sale but they expect a core in return. So I'm thinking that if they want the old part, there must be a source of rebuild kits.

Thanks!

Kits

I have generator kits available. There is no such thing as a regulator kit.
Most of the distributor parts I also have available, although not as a kit.
www.midwestmilitary.net It would be best to call to discuss these items.

Tim,

Most of the overhauling is easily performed by any experienced automotive electrician. A good percentage of the parts are common to other applications. Here on our web site you will find excellent Illustrated Parts Manuals that cover them and the individual Army overhaul manuals for each of them.

You did not tell us what model 24V military vehicles you are operating?

I have 3 M37's, I'm in the process of restoring one, with parts from a second truck. I picked up a third truck a few weeks ago and I'm working on making it a runner for now. I also own two m151A1's, one A2, one m35a2, and three m416 trailers.

John,

I've been to your website many times but didn't see these types of parts. I've been building a list of parts needed for my m37 project an hopefully I will have time to get it done this summer. You are going to be the first person I call when I'm ready to place an order.
