On the raised bump type front cover the left edge of the bump is the 5 deg mark and the right edge of the bump is the TDC mark. Left & Right as you stand at the front of the engine and look at it. That pulley already has one notch to many in it. If you are running avgas then on the cover about 3/16" to the left of the 5 Deg mark make a 10 Deg mark. Then time closer to the 10.

I would fill that square notch and paint over it in gray.

You can paint your "V" notch a bright color and then paint all three lines on the cover or stripe them with bright striping tape used to pin stripe cars.
