M38A1 Engine Stay Cable

Post by C5loadmaster »

I have a question about the engine stay cable. I read the forum for adjusting it. My question is what is the actual funtion of the cable and what was it designed for? You have two engine mounts and a tranny mount securing the engine and tranny assembly , so why the cable?

Thanks,
Matt

Check this out:

That cable is very handy; avoids having to get the radiator re-cored.

Thanks for the explanation. Both my motor mounts were junk when I pulled the engine the first time. They were just resting on the ruber and fel out when I lifted the engine.
