M170 top side rods
I need the rods that go from the windshield to the front bow. I believe the original part numbers are WO-685453 and WO-682884. In addition to the top rods I need the rods that go from these rods to the hole/socket in the sides just behind the seats.
If there is a better term for these parts I would love to learn what they re called. If I can't make them I'm sure it will take time to find them.
Thanks, Jim.

The M170 may be a different measurement, but this might give you some ideas.

www.odcloth.com weebe webbing can help you. They restored an excellent M170. Hopefully they'll get rid of the virus on their web site soon. A phony "Flashplayer" required and download thingy has locked up all their web site pages.

I've already spoke to him. He doesn't have the information but did tell me the measurements of the rear top to get me close.wesk wrote:www.odcloth.com weebe webbing can help you. Check out the "Gary Keating" photo album on page 1 of the members albums; there's some photos on pages 2 & 3 of Gary's album that may be of help.I need the rods that go from the windshield to the front bow. If you are on a Apple based OS their site works fine, at least it does on my Ipad.wesk wrote:www.odcloth.com weebe webbing can help you. They restored an excellent M170. These photos have been a great help. I think I will be able to build them or a close facsimile of them. Does any one know the diameter of the rod material?
And what does the right end of the rod in the diagram look like? It doesn't look like a "hook" like the left end
Thanks for all the help. I'll try to post pictures if I can figure how to setup a gallery.

Did you look at all of his photos?

Rod diameter is the closest undersize of the opening in the small bracket at the top of the windshield.

Thanks evanso1975. I think I am going to be able to build the rods. You guys have been a great help. Now I think I only have one more question and I think I know the answer. About half way along the rod there is a rod that goes from the rod to the body. Is this just a plain piece of 3/8 inch rod stock or is there some bend or crook in the rod?
Thanks Jim.
Thanks Jim.

Can't speak for the M170, but on the my M38 this is just a straight piece; no bend.About half way along the rod there is a rod that goes from the rod to the body. Is this just a plain piece of 3/8 inch rod stock or is there some bend or crook in the rod?
