Parts manual clarification

Post by Xamon »

I have been transcribing the parts manual, starting with fasteners, into a spread sheet. There is one part giving me some trouble hope someone can clarify what it should say.
So, Ord 9 SNL g-740 parts manual, page 286
Part 7372886, most of it is fairly straight forward it is the 6/8 at the end. is this supposed to be a 3/4? is it indicating there were two lengths of screw used?

Also I have 16 pages left to go gathering the various screws, nuts, bolts, and washers then if anyone is interested I can give a copy of the file.

That should be 7/8 not 6/8.

The way I checked that is:

1-Go to Ordnance and Manufacturers part number index page 384.
you will find PN 7372886 is listed in two locations.

2-Go to the 2101 page 324. You'll see 7372886 listed 7 items down.

Just curious, what's your purpose in doing this project? Sounds like a lot of work. I'd like to see your final file when done.

Thanks Wes I will check that out.

Bretto, I am doing this so I can eventually go into the local Fastenal and go "gimme these" and just get every faster I need for the jeep in one go instead of getting a few at a time. Going to be expensive mind you, there are over 150 separate entries, many are for only a few but at least one is up to 70 pieces. I got a few more pages done today, depending on how long I can take staring at numbers I should have it finished this week.

Have you reviewed the fastener info in the M38 Restoration Guide?
