Thermostat temperature preference

Post by Coobey »

What temperature thermostat do you run? Iowa Weather here so its varies 100deg in the summer and -9 in the winter, We do not plan to drive it on either extreme but a hot summer day is more likely than cold.. ha

I prefer the 160 with a flat head or L head engine. They seem to run hotter than a F head. John

Thank you for the response. makes sense on the L head running hotter.

For more information I recently was told that typically 160 was the general use, a 180 was common addition/change for running a heater. Quite reputable person stated it so I lean to believe that.
