Does anyone know of a good key switch I can install in place of the original ignition toggle (without any modification to the original dash)?

Any switch that will fit the hole. You'll want the older on / off only switch without the springloaded start position. You'll need to modify the wires that connect to the switch or get some extra military connectors from Midwest Military and make up pig tails for the new switch that will then connect to the original wires. Your new switch should have 3 terminals on the back. IGN, BAT, & ACC. Connect the original wires this way:
BAT = 11
IGN = 12
ACC = 27 (if you had the 3 wire M38 switch then 85 as well goes here.)
If you decide to use a two terminal switch then 11 goes to one terminal and the rest to the other.
If you decide to use a 4 terminal switc (has starter function) just ignore the ST or START position.
