I had the frame in for media blasting this morning, get the crud off. and see what I have to work with.
Only one thing bothered me, wondering what the deal is.
I'm sure this isn't in the TM.
the rest wasn't bad, so far nice and solid. I'm sure I will find more when I pull the axles off.
Should be able to pick up the tub and the rest tomorrow and see what other secrets are hiding under neath.
Not sure what you're referring to, but if it is the welded steering stop bolt in the middle of the picture, that's pretty much legit. Mine were welded, too, though not as extensively as yours. While not mentioned in the TM that I can recall, I think they were welded to keep motor pool mechanics from monkeying with them once the correct turning angles were established.

The bracket at the connection of the rubber to steel brake line is folded down flat to the axle and will possibly pinch, break, rub the steel line.
should be at about 45 deg I think.

is this what your talking about? To make sure I've got it right.
half the things I didn't even know about until blasting it was caked with everything you can think of, I'm sure most everyone else has run into that and knows the issue's.
I will have to look into that.
the other thing is a lot of the line were not connected when I got it, and some beat up pretty bad. So I plan on replacing most of it when I start rebuilding. the media from blasting gets into everything, So it will all be taken off cleaned or replaced depending on what I find.

Good plan. I replaced all of my lines, rubber and steel, and the cylinders and
fittings. For a few dollars more you can completely eliminate
any iffy stuff you reused.
