Mechanical oil gauge install

Post by 4x4M38 »

I have a mechanical oil pressure gauge. Would it make sense
to use the two hard and soft lines that were used on the CJ2A
to get the fluid to the gauge ?

Thanks,
Brian

No. Since the direct mechanical gauge is not stock for the M38/M38A1 you should use the most expedient method and materials. The nylon tubing is easier to utilize with the aftermarket direct mechanical gauge. If you must use metal tubing be sure to form a vibration loop in it between the firewall and the sender and to protect it from chaffing against the firewall hole with a rubber grommet.

Very good.

The as bought non-military gauge has the nylon line. I will use that line.

Thanks Wes.
