Rifle Rack

Post by DanS »

I know this has been asked before, but, I can't find it now. Is the dash mounted rifle bracket the same for the WWII jeep and the M38 or M38A1? Thanks.

Dan,
Near as I can tell the same rack was used on the MB/GPW and
M38, but upside down on the WWII jeeps.

That rack won't fit the M38A1 windshield. A common practice
was to install dash/floor vertical mount racks.

The WWII brackets are:
A11581
A11584
A11945

M38 are:
673395
673394
673380

M38A1 didn't use the windshield brackets. Most folks use the standard M series vertical dash mount with the floor but stock socket.

So, physically, they are the same? I would assume the part numbers are not visible on the part to help distinguish?

I guess I should clarify. I meant to ask about the Rifle Rack, not the brackets. Thanks.

The rifle rack is the same WWII & M38 but not M38A1. The mounting brackets differ a bit.

Wes,
Do you know if they did another run of these racks or simply
pulled them off the WWII jeeps and supplies as a available
and as they got rid of the MN/GPW's?

IE, are the OEM racks available all WWII production?
