Bolt size for Slave Cable Receptacle and bracket

Post by DanS »

Looked here, cant find it, what size are the bolts/screws for the slave cable receptacle to the bracket? The screws for the bracket to the fender are in the parts manual,12x24NCx5/8", round headed slotted bolt. These would be too short for the receptacle to the bracket. I don't see the receptacle or the screws noted. Also, are there lock or flat washers applicable here? Thanks.

The receptacle and it's four bolts are listed together in the M38 ORD 9 at the bottom of page 177 If these 4 bolts are too short than the receptacle assembly must include the bracket. In that case the screws fastening the receptacle to the bracket would not be listed in the jeep parts lists.

The earlier M38 ORD 9 does not list the slave receptacle at all. The later M38 and the M38A1 left Willys without them installed. They were added in the field with a Kit, Slave Receptacle. Perhaps someone has a parts list that came with this kit?

The M38A1 ORD 9 doesn't list it either.

I did find the hardware listed in my M37 Dodge ORD 9. Keep in mind that the Dodge uses weld nuts in the cowl panel for the four receptacle mount bolts. At least the bolt and washer types are ID'd.
