Tool box Weather Seal

Sorry but looked at numerous photo's and what TM's I have but does
The tool box lid gasket go in the groove on the box or glued to the Lid?
I have remints of the gasket glued to the lid on the M38A1.
You would think it belongs in the groove of the box?

Hello Tom,
I thought that as well, but several posts here determine it and the glove box and battery box seals were attached to the lids. I believe Wes has a photo or two on his pages documenting. IIRC, if attached in the proper place it will sit down onto the lip with the groove lined up.

Mine is stuck down onto the lip for now to keep Mother Nature out until I can restore the lid.
