Post by usma41 »

I was wondering if anyone knew how to set the voltage regulator so as not to over charge the battery's? I keep getting dry cell's.

Just download the voltage regulator adjusting and overhaul pages from the download section.

Frank,
Which photo is unreadable. Are you talking about this web site's download section or my personal photo storage site?

Here's the properly enlarged photo from my site. I can't believe you are finding them unreadable! Remember what I said: go to my photo sute:
http://autolitemanuals.mypicgallery.com/
Then click on the photo you want to view in the right column.
A slightly larger version will appear in the top left display area.
Now if you want an enlargement to full size of that one then while it is displayed in the top left corner click directly on the photo.

the voltageregulator can be adjusted by a nut on the retainerspring, more tension is higher voltage, i adjusted it with turning engine until i had
27.8 - 28 volts on the batteries. More than 28 volt is to high and can make your batteries boiling !

if you have a voltmeter on the dash, the needle is half in the green zone, i think there is a small mark in this zone.

i cleaned the contacts and adjusted it last spring, and so far we had no problems anymore, before that we get sometimes 28.8 volts what was to high and harmed the ignition parts !
