spring heights

Post by newm38owner »

I was wondering if anybody would now the distance from the top of the springs to the bottom of the frame? The reason I am asking is that I have recently purchased a 1952 m38 and I am going to restore it and I am trying to come up with a list of parts I am going to need. The previous owner had rebuilt it somewhat aprox. 17 years ago but may have put lift springs in it everything else is stock as far as I can tell except the warn overdrive unit, the bumpers, and the tires 31". That is why I am wondering about the springs.
Any information would be great thanks

The springs should mount to brackets that are welded to the frame.

If you have any lifting shackles on there, they are not original.

Also, try to get a parts manual and maintinance manual for the M38, there are lots of photos and instructions that are a must have.

Hope this helps!
