Antifreeze on paint

1952 M 38-paint is about seven years old and still super but I managed to spill some antifreeze on the drivers front fender. I rinsed it off as soon as i could but there are still some stains that wont come out. Just wondering if i should just lightly sand and spray it or take the whole fender off and spray. I have some spray cans of AJP WWII semi gloss that the jeep was done in but not sure if painting a whole fender with it will work. Dont know if there is any other way of getting it off. I guess i could just throw fender cover over it at the shows. Thanks john jr.

Hey at least it wasn't brake fluid!

7 year old paint won't match new paint no matter what you do
unless it's never been outside in the sun. The other problem is unless
it's flat whatever you do short of repainted won't match the luster or
lack of.

Is it a factory resto or motor pool? If the latter it probably happened in the
field and I guarantee they didn't repainted it.

Brian, actually it hasnt seen much sun since painted. Its in the man cave most of the time. It would be a motor pool restore though. I have touched up some of the under neath with the rattle can and it blends in great but thats underneath, not a fender. Thanks foe the the input. John jr

One of the things the GI's did for inspection was shine up the Jeeps paint by rubbing the whole thing with diesel fuel. It then would collect dirt and die back in the sun to the way it was. That might even out the paint, but if you are going to re-paint, then don't do it. Maybe rub the fender with more antifreeze? Just getting in and out shines it up where your clothes rub. John

John, my teeth clenched about putting more anti freeze on the fender. Im too scared to try that. Lol maybe i just need to get her out more and it will all fade the same., john jr

If it bothers you that bad, and it isn't faded and aged, just scuff it and re-paint it. OD is the most forgiving paint there is. John
