Starter bushing

Post by 4x4M38 »

Servicing my 12 volt Prestolite starter.
The center armature shaft bushing is cracked.

I've seen several for sale on the Internet but all are in
metric sizes. It's 5/8" id x 3/4" od. and brass or bronze,
solid with no through slots.

Does anyone have a source or can I use a bushing of the right
size I can easily find at the hardware store?

Thanks,

2 x on McMaster Carr

Also a very good source for O-rings of every size and material. Low cost shipping for small orders makes it practical, too.
