Those depots in Europe, Puerto Rico and Japan were there to cut down on sea going freight costs to move our vehicles to contiguous 48 depots. Either one is possible but my point is most M38A1's weren't worn out enough for a depot refurb until the mid to late 50's and Pueblo I believe was out of the jeep refurb business by then.

The beginning of this discussion centered on the A1. We can adjust the date to about 54/55 for your 1950 M38. Keep in mind these are engine rebuild tags not entire jeep refurbishment tags found on some dashes.
