I have a engine for your A1 its in , what looks like an original crate.

What fits will depend on how much fitting you want to do. A small block chevy with the 465 tranny and NP205 transfer and special built driveshafts can be made to fit.

Try answering these questions first, then we can offer a more selective answer.

1-Do you want 4, 6 or 8 cylinders?

2-Do you wish it to fit the T90 tranny on the jeep or do you wish to use a different tranny/transfer? If a different unit is desired then what units are you planning to use.

3-Do you want an engine cammed and tuned for the 3000 to 5000 cruising RPM range or for the 1500 to 2500 low end torgue RPM range for real jeep work.

4- Do you have any engine or make engine specifically in m ind?

5- Do you want carb or fuel injection?

6-Are you trying to retain the military 24 volt system? If not what sytem do you wish to use.

7-Do you wish to and are you capable of heavy firewall and engine mount modification and it's associated welding?

8-Do you plan on using the existing axles (5:38 gears)?
