Understood. More research! This stuff gets complicated....

Got a 1952 M38 with all of the original parts.

More often than not we all have a tendency to over-complicate!

I found the photos of converting to alternator for the F engine..... are there similar illustrations for the L engine in my 1952 M38 or is it basically the same?

I also was curious if the yellow lines are new wire or is there a way to convert the pin connectors/adaptor harness available?

The only effect the difference in L134 vs F134 with the 24V electrical system is the location of the oil pressure transmitter. Otherwise treat them as the same for all practical purposes.

Yellow is just there to hi-lite the use or re-purposing of the original #10 wire.

Don't waste your time and money trying to find a mate for that plug. Just wire as shown. If you are worried about eliminating the plug because you may want to switch back then use my other wiring diagram.

Use this diagram if you want to keep the plug around in case you want to switch back later.

Both of these assume you are using a 24V alternator. If you are switching to 12V there are quite a few other changes that you need to make.
