Yesterday I was able to get outside for a little cleanup. The pressure washer did a pretty good job getting the flaking paint off. I was able to recover a few partial markings and get most of the desert tan out from underneath. It looks like all they did was lift it up and spray paint on everything underneath because it was covering the complete inside of the tires, parking brake cable and everything - and it wasn't sticking very well.
Man, I hope you never have to back up! You can't find much info on them on the net. That's why I'm going to put the resto on here and my USMC M38a1 blog. Hopefully I can get people posting up with the NON mainstream builds like this. I'm still considering building my m100 chassis as an m115 generator chassis to pull behind my other (early) M38a1.
I was just looking for something to pull behind my USMC M38a1. M416s are do expensive these days, I can't justify spending the $$. Maybe I can find a period correct generator to put on it like the ones Wes suggested in the other thread. Of course by the time I do that I'll have more in it than just buying an m416! At least it will be something different to show.
