They are rare and run upwards of $2500 complete winch with drive shafts, support bearing and PTO all in serviceable condition.

Wes your price is a little low for a complete setup. I have seen the winch itslef sell for over 2500. The last ramsey 105a pto i sold years ago went foe 1000 and that was just the pto.

Winch kit

Post by G740 »

A complete and correct winch kit for the 38 or 38A1 will bring north of $5000 these days. $2500 is low and would be giving someone a screaming deal.

You all did not notice the part of post that said: "run upwards"

I reserved my choice of high end pending some viewable photos.

I notice it's missing the data plate and control lever and offers no internal photos showing gear condition. Could be a 50 or 50R.

I would think the $2500 would be for a good one in working condition - if that unit is not serviceable you would be spending a lot just to get the internals if you can find them.

I haven't bought for years so I don't know the current Epay prices, but $2500 for a unit that may or may not work sounds like a bit of a risk.

I have noticed that it is cheaper to buy a jeep with the Ramsey winch setup then to buy it separate. Atleast in my neck of the woods.

I would consider just your winch in the $750-1,000 range. Someone with a correct PTO would be the person to be on the high end.

Although not rare in my opinion, it is an accessory in high demand. Depending on location, condition and if its actually a complete kit the prices are all over the place sadly.

M38 Arctic tops in some places go for $200 where they are an common find. In areas where they are not as common I have seen them sell for $700 -$1,000

My two cents...

Have a great day gentlemen
