M38A1 Battery Box Cover Question

Post by Madriver1968 »

Howdy all and Happy New Year!

Just out of curiosity, I'm curious if we know when the change over from the early to the late style battery box cover took place by vehicle number or approximate timeframe?

Thanks all!

If you look up the battery lid on page 172 of the M38A1 ORD 9 SNL G-758 parts manual you will see very quickly when/what SN the change occurs.

If you do not have an M38A1 parts manual ORD 9 SNL G-758 simply download your free PDF copy here on our downloads page.

Also don't hesitate to use my photo album where I have posted 100's of valuable detailed technical photos.

In this case the album for M38A1 Electrical is the album to look in:

And more specifically the Battery Box sub-album:

The ORD 9 is a very useful tool when restoring the m38A1 or M170. About 70% of significant parts changes are covered with serial cutoffs.
