NAPA number for L134 thermostat.
Took the thermostat housing off of my M38 this evening and found the thermostat stuck open. It was coroded in there and came out in pieces. The thermostat I picked up in town looks more like a regular thermostat. It must be for the F134 engine. All I have is the housing. Does anyone know the NAPA number to order what I need locally? I would like to have this thing going again this weekend.

The thermostat is suppose to look like a regular thermostat. You are probably missing the spacer that sits in the housing with the thermostat.

According to erik's post I have the newer style wax pellet thermostat from the parts house. It shows a bellows style thermostat which I pulled out of my jeep. The retainer came out in crumbles.
The reason im posting this is that my parents are coming to visit this weekend and they havent seen the jeep since ive gotten it all back together. I would like to be able to take Dad for a drive. Thats why I was asking if anyone had the part numbers for the thermostat and retainer so I can get them by tomorrow.

thermostat
Ryan........napa or just about any good parts house will have the thermostat that you need,..the problem will be finding the retainer that holds it up in the neck; very few part houses have this unless they specialize in jeep parts.

to make this retainer with a old pipe, cut it sideways to enlarge the diameter can not be a difficult job. or use a spring between the top off the thermostat and the retainer house ?
