1952 M-38 Starter Issue

Darn. Wish I had seen this in time. I get my 51R batteries from Interstate. I go to the warehouse and buy blems. 38 dollars apiece (before 11 dollar core exchange!). I have them in my M38, the M gator, the M37 and four of them in my Command Car (fills up the hold down that fit over the monster truck battery the Command Cars came with. My oldest are going on 5 years old and still no problems. I am amazed that after the trucks have been in for the winter, they start right up and I don't do any charging during that time.

Do you mean Interstate sell blemish ones right at their distribution warehouse ?

Interstate has a good reputation. Sounds like a great deal. I discovered there's a local distributor near me. Will have to remember to call them about buying blems. Thanks for the tip!
