BB doesn't bother to tell us, M38 or M38A1? My crystal balls are out being washed so I can't see what he has. Maybe it don't matter.....but without me doing the homework and looking up the part number in the ORD9's for both trucks and investigating it for him, isn't it the same dzus fastener that's used on the gauge panel that's fastened to the dash on both trucks?
Pretty certain that MWM and QTM keep them in stock.
Also quite possible that maybe I misunderstand the question.....
It happens a lot to me when I try to help without seeing photo's or part numbers and guess about stuff........

All right BB, if I'm on target, this took about 3 minutes to look up in the M38 ORD9 on page 296. The ORD9 is free for download on this forum. Try it sometime.
The part number is G740-7375398, WO-673788, Receptacle, battery box cover stud to cowl
Buy them here: https://store.midwestmilitary.com/product-p/7375398.htm
The correct size rivets are also listed in the ORD9 (1/8 x 1/8 ).

Actually, I Wes K took the liberty of amending his post to ID the vehicle in question!RonD2 wrote:

BB,
The easy way to cover the ID'g of your model jeep issue is to include a signature line that lists the model of your jeep and a more proper first name since most folks prefer holding discussions with a person not a handle. You can do this by adding the info to the signature block in your profile and checking the box that add's your signature to your post.
