August Iola MV Show is no longer happening

Sad news but after 25 years the host had to say enough. See an excellent article here:

The new Central Wisconsin Military Show will try to replace the Iola show this August. I hope we all will support this effort to continue a 25 year tradition.

Dates:
2017 Aug 11 - move in day for equipment, vendors and re-enactors
2017 Aug 12 - gates open to public (0800 - 1800)
2017 Aug 13 - move out

Friday Evening there will be welcoming event (more details to come).
Saturday Evening there will be a Pin Up Contest and Awards Ceremony after show shuts down (more details to come).

Entry still Free for Display Vehicles

Outdoor Sale Spaces (approx. 120 spaces):
10’x30’ - $50.00 each (Limit 2 max) for the first year

No RV parking in Sales Spaces

Camp Grounds are a lot closer to show and display area than the Iola Grounds.

It is sad certainly but good that the community is willing to improvise, adapt and overcome by changing venues. I wish them success.

Sadly the threat of litigation and rising insurance costs are taking toll on equine events that my wife and I participate in as well. :x

We have had a lot of change and inventions and new ideas in the last several HUNDREDS of years, but absolutely the most costly and disruptive novelty of all those was the appearance and rapid growth of the Barrister Profession!
