An extra valve would be nice. In a pinch Ive had to pull off and kink the rubber line of the passenger side in order to get more out of the driver.
This is why the M38A1 switched to the right hand pump with a built in shut off valve.

Seems like almost everything on a car was vacuum controlled at some point.

Makes me wonder as Wes suggests that correct manifold vacuum as well as a proper functioning fuel pump, along with a vacuum tank or accumulator
(forget what they used to be called) would be the ticket.

Heck, vacuum boosted brakes were around for a long time. They have to
work properly, right?

I'm surprised the military didn't install tanks like civvy vehicles to help.
