This is why the M38A1 switched to the right hand pump with a built in shut off valve.An extra valve would be nice. In a pinch Ive had to pull off and kink the rubber line of the passenger side in order to get more out of the driver.

Seems like almost everything on a car was vacuum controlled at some point.
Makes me wonder as Wes suggests that correct manifold vacuum as well as a proper functioning fuel pump, along with a vacuum tank or accumulator
(forget what they used to be called) would be the ticket.
Heck, vacuum boosted brakes were around for a long time. They have to
work properly, right?
I'm surprised the military didn't install tanks like civvy vehicles to help.
